The Fostex MR-8 mk2 is a portable and intuitive 8-track digital recorder that captures the ease of a vintage analog tape deck with the convenience of digital storage. Recording directly to CompactFlash cards, the mk2 version updated the original MR-8 with a sleek black finish, a larger high-contrast display, and USB 2.0 connectivity for fast file transfers to your computer. It is an ideal tool for songwriters who want a tactile, knob-per-function recording experience without the distractions of a DAW.
This unit has been tested and is in good working condition, with one cosmetic note: the master volume knob is currently missing. The underlying potentiometer shaft is fully intact and functional, so the volume can still be adjusted easily by hand, and a replacement knob can be easily pressed onto the shaft if desired.
Important: This unit does not include a power supply. It requires a 12V DC adapter to operate via a wall outlet, or it can be powered by six AA batteries for true record-anywhere capability. This unit includes its original protective carrying case.
