The Alesis Midiverb II came out in 1987 and has never really gone away. It is a 1U rackmount effects processor with 99 fixed presets covering reverb, chorus, flange, delay, and special effects, built around a 16-bit linear PCM processing engine on a custom Alesis chip. It is not a clean, transparent reverb — and that is precisely the point. The Midiverb II has a warmth and character that later, more clinical units never quite replicated, and it has earned genuine cult status among electronic producers, ambient artists, and shoegaze musicians for its dense, atmospheric reverb tails and the famous bloom presets. Decades on, people are still seeking these out.
This one powers on cleanly and all 99 presets recall properly. Buttons and knobs are all in good working order with no issues. Cosmetically there are small scratches on the chassis consistent with rack use — nothing unusual for a unit of this age. Power supply is included.
