The XR696F puts 2x600 watts of DDT-protected power into a single unit alongside a full-featured 8-channel mixing console. Eight XLR inputs with switchable 48V phantom power, two with inserts, 3-band EQ on every channel, individual monitor and effects sends, two stereo channels, and RCA tape in and out cover the working band's needs without requiring additional outboard gear.
The standout feature is the built-in Feedback Ferret — Peavey's stereo digital feedback eliminator that identifies and notches feedback frequencies in real time without requiring manual EQ adjustments. For a band or operator running their own PA without a dedicated engineer, this is a genuinely useful tool. The digital effects processor runs at 48-bit internal resolution with four user store locations, and the graphic EQ section includes one stereo and one mono EQ assignable to the monitor or channel 3.
