The XREF 20 is Sonarworks' dedicated measurement microphone for their SoundID Reference and Reference 4 room calibration software. What separates it from generic measurement mics is individual calibration — every unit is measured against an ANSI-certified reference microphone by Sonarworks' acousticians, and a unique calibration profile is generated for that specific mic. The profile covers 0°, 30°, and 90° off-axis positions, with the 30° profile used automatically by the Reference software during speaker measurement. The result is a flat frequency response with precision that generic measurement mics at this price can't reliably deliver. The omnidirectional pickup pattern, phantom-powered electret-condenser capsule, and XLR output make it straightforward to integrate with any interface-based measurement setup. Compatible with SoundID Reference, Reference 4, and third-party acoustic measurement software that supports Sonarworks calibration profiles in TXT format.
