The SoundBird V1 is a capable, well-built shotgun mic aimed at video production, broadcast, and field recording work. Solid brass construction keeps RF interference out and gives it a durability that cheaper plastic-bodied shotguns can't match, and the gold-plated XLR connector handles the signal with minimal resistance to corrosion. The supercardioid pickup pattern pulls in sound from directly in front while rejecting sides and rear — useful on a camera shoe, boom pole, or stand wherever you need directional capture. A 200Hz high-pass filter handles HVAC rumble and low-end noise, a -10dB pad manages loud sources without clipping, and illuminated buttons let you see your settings at a glance. Power runs from +48V phantom or an internal AA battery, with the On/Off button changing color to indicate source and battery level. At 10.7" it sits in a practical middle length — long enough for serious directional rejection, short enough for camera mounting.
This unit is in very good condition and fully functional throughout.
