The EDB1 is Whirlwind's entry-level passive DI — metal construction, quality transformer, no power required. It converts unbalanced instrument or line-level signals to balanced low-impedance mic-level output suitable for any console or preamp input. A three-position pad covers 0dB, -20dB, and -40dB of attenuation for hot sources, and a ground lift switch handles hum and ground loop issues. One in, one through, one XLR out. No frills, no batteries, no maintenance. A reliable workhorse that turns up on stages and in studios for good reason.
