The E-MU Proteus/3 World is a classic 1U rackmount MIDI sound module released in the early 1990s. As the third entry in the famous Proteus series, the World module focused entirely on ethnic and world instruments, offering a vast library of 16-bit samples ranging from bagpipes and sitars to shakers, flutes, and exotic percussion. It remains a beloved tool for composers and sound designers looking for organic, non-Western textures that retain a unique lo-fi charm.
This unit has been fully tested in our shop and is in good working order. It features 32-voice polyphony and is 16-part multitimbral, allowing you to sequence complex arrangements of global sounds simultaneously. The front panel provides easy access to master volume, data entry, and a clear LCD for patch navigation. On the rear, you will find six individual polyphonic outputs, which allow for sophisticated external processing or sub-mixing of specific instrument groups.
Cosmetically, the unit is in good shape with some typical minor rack wear on the top and bottom of the chassis. The internal battery has been checked to ensure your custom user presets and global settings are retained.
