Ward Jene Stroud Native American-Style Flute, Key of F#, Bear Effigy - Used

This is a flute by Ward Jene Stroud (L&W Stroud), a widely respected name in the Native American-style flute world. Stroud is recognized academically as one of four prominent figures who shaped the modern rise in status of the instrument, alongside Kelvin Bizahaloni, R. Carlos Nakai, and John Rainer Jr. He's also released recorded music, produced instructional content on flute playing, and is known for his hand-carved animal effigy blocks — a signature touch found on this instrument in the form of a beautifully detailed carved bear.
The flute is built in maple and tuned to the key of F#, a less common and niche-interest key, and is numbered consistent with Stroud's practice of marking his work. The carved bear at the block is genuinely striking up close — well-proportioned and full of character, and clearly the work of someone with real sculptural skill, not just a flute maker who carves on the side.
This one is in Very Good condition with no significant signs of wear and nothing worth calling out cosmetically. Just the flute — no case included.
