Mollenhauer Kynseker Tenor Recorder - Used
The Mollenhauer Kynseker series faithfully reproduces a complete consort of Renaissance recorders based on originals by Hieronymus F. Kynseker (1636-1686), held at the Germanic National Museum in Nuremberg. True to the originals in form and character, the Kynseker tenor features a narrow arched windway and a strong, stable sound, particularly in the lower register. This tenor includes a fontanella — the decorative perforated wooden sleeve that covers and protects the lower key mechanism, a hallmark of historical recorder construction — along with a swallow-tail shaped key for the lowest note, both staying true to the Renaissance original. It's well suited to consort playing and early Baroque repertoire, and is well regarded among serious early music players for its balance and authentic voice.
This one is built in stained maple and is in Very Good condition overall, with minor signs of wear concentrated mostly on the fontanella. Comes in a white carrying tube. No other accessories included.
