Eastman MD514 F-Style Mandolin w/ Polyfoam Case - Used
The Eastman MD514 is a professional-grade F-style mandolin featuring an oval soundhole, a design prized for its warm, resonant bass response and distinctive "tubby" midrange. Built with a solid Adirondack spruce top and solid highly-flamed maple back and sides, this instrument delivers a sweet, harmonically rich tone that is perfect for folk, old-time, and Celtic music. The oval hole design offers a different tonal flavor than the traditional f-hole, providing a more rounded and intimate sound.
This mandolin is in great structural shape and has been professionally set up in our shop to ensure excellent playability. It shows some honest signs of use, including pick scratching on the top and minor fret wear; however, these are purely cosmetic and do not impact the performance or comfort of the instrument. It is a sweet-sounding player that has clearly been enjoyed and is ready for its next home.
The MD514 features a radiused ebony fingerboard and an adjustable ebony bridge, allowing for precise intonation and a comfortable feel. It includes a protective polyfoam case, offering the lightweight portability of a gig bag with the structural rigidity of a hardshell case.
