This little Artisan Royal is a vintage Italian-made piano accordion — 25 treble keys, 12 bass buttons, and all the charm you'd expect from a mid-century Italian squeeze box. Artisan Royal instruments were built in Italy during the golden age of accordion manufacturing, and this one has the look and feel to match: black finish with striking gold grille work, a bold decorative badge, and a compact size that makes it genuinely fun to pick up and play.
It's fully functional — all keys and bass buttons respond, the bellows hold compression with no leaks, and the shoulder straps are intact and comfortable. There is one slightly sticky treble key, and one of the two bellows-closing straps (the ones that cinch the instrument shut when not in use) is non-functional. Everything else is working as it should. Cute as a button and fun to play — this is a great entry point into the accordion world, or a charming gigging companion for someone who wants a compact, characterful instrument.
Cosmetically the accordion is in good shape for its age. The black finish shows some light wear and minor surface marks consistent with a vintage instrument — see photos for a clear picture. The gold grille is intact and the badge is present and intact. The bellows are in solid shape with no visible tape or repairs. Comes in its original hardshell case.
