This is a fantastic vintage semi-hollow, a Yamaha SA1000 Super Axe from 1977. The serial number indicates this guitar was made at the very beginning of this model's production run (1977-1983). It's a wonderful Japanese-built interpretation of Gibson's ES-335, but with its own unique voice, featuring birch laminate construction and a premium ebony fretboard, all at a much more friendly price point.
This is a superb player. It's all original and has just been professionally setup (October 2025). It's in Very Good condition and is quite clean for its age. The only thing of note is some cloudiness in the clear coat, which is evident on the body and the back of the neck especially. Based on other examples online, this is not an uncommon cosmetic occurrence for this model and in no way affects the functionality, playability, or super tones this instrument produces.
