Yamaha AES 620 - Royal Blue - Used
The Yamaha AES 620 is a cult-classic single-cutaway electric that punches far above its weight class, offering a unique alternative to traditional mahogany-bodied guitars. It features a solid mahogany body capped with a striking flamed maple veneer, finished in a vibrant Royal Blue. This model is well-known for its "mammoth" sound and sustain, largely due to the combination of its set-neck construction and Yamaha’s signature through-body stringing system with individual finger tailpieces.
Electronically, the AES 620 is built for performance. It comes factory-equipped with a powerhouse pickup duo: a Seymour Duncan JB humbucker in the bridge for searing leads and crunch, and a custom Yamaha Alnico humbucker in the neck for smooth, warm cleans. The control layout provides two independent volume knobs and a master tone, allowing for precise blending of the pickups. With its fast neck and high-quality Grover tuners, this guitar is a reliable workhorse for rock, blues, and heavier styles alike.
This instrument is in used condition and shows honest signs of cosmetic use, including some minor dings and surface scratches consistent with its age. It has been professionally set up in our shop and is playing beautifully with comfortable action. Weighing in at 7 lbs 10 oz, it is a well-balanced example that won’t break your back during long sets.
