The Squier Bullet Strat HSS takes the classic Stratocaster formula and adds a humbucker at the bridge — a small change that opens up a noticeably wider tonal range. The two single-coils in the neck and middle positions give you all the glassy, chimey Strat tones you'd expect, while the bridge humbucker adds body and warmth for crunch and overdrive that single-coils alone can't quite deliver. Five-way switching means you can work through the full spectrum, and the synchronous tremolo bridge keeps things expressive without getting complicated. The maple neck with rosewood fingerboard is comfortable and familiar, the C-shape profile sits right in the hand, and at 7 pounds 6 ounces it's light enough to play all day without complaint. These are honest, practical instruments — built by Fender for players who want real Stratocaster DNA without the premium price tag, and this 2011 Chinese-made example is a solid one.
