The Silvertone 1423, originally known as the Jupiter, was a staple of the 1950s and 60s catalog guitar era. This modern reissue captures all the vintage "vibe" and idiosyncratic charm of the original while offering the improved build quality and reliability of a contemporary instrument. Featuring a pair of custom-wound Duncan Designed humbuckers that mimic the look and "bite" of the original DeArmond Silver Foil pickups, this guitar is a powerhouse for blues, garage rock, and indie tones.
This instrument is in Excellent condition. It has been meticulously cared for and shows virtually no signs of wear. The Redburst finish is vibrant and deep, perfectly complementing the retro-styled hardware and distinctive "blender" control knob, which allows you to mix the output of both pickups for a huge array of tonal textures.
Weighing in at a very comfortable 6.95 lbs, this Jupiter is lightweight and resonant. It has been professionally inspected and set up in our shop, ensuring it plays as good as it looks. It comes complete with a padded gig bag.
