The Schecter USA Custom Shop PT is the guitar that traces the company's DNA all the way back to its origins — Schecter began in the late 1970s building premium replacement parts for Telecaster-style guitars, and the PT is the direct expression of that founding identity, built today at their Burbank, California Custom Shop to a standard that the production line simply cannot match. Every Custom Shop PT is built to order in the USA with individually selected components, hand-fitted hardware, and the kind of careful attention to detail that shows in every surface. The Telecaster-inspired format — single cutaway alder body, bolt-on maple neck, 25.5-inch scale — is the most proven electric guitar design in history, and Schecter's execution of it at the Custom Shop level adds genuine refinement without departing from what makes the format great. The vintage tint satin neck finish is one of the most immediately comfortable neck finishes available — thin, natural-feeling, and smooth under the hand from the first note. The skunk stripe texture is subtly felt through the thin finish, a small tactile reminder that this is a carefully built instrument rather than a painted-over production piece. Two classic Telecaster-voiced single-coil pickups feed a three-way switch with volume and tone controls, delivering the full range of Tele tones from glassy and clean to punchy and biting. Locking tuners ensure tuning stability. At 7 pounds 7 ounces this guitar is comfortable to wear for a full set.
This one is in superb shape — no fret wear, minor signs of play, and extremely minor wear on the fretboard edge. There is a small area of minor finish discoloration on the bass side of the top next to the neck, shown in the photos. It presents beautifully in Olympic White and feels fantastic in the hand.
