The Blackjack SLS C-1 FR Sustainiac is one of the most feature-loaded production guitars Schecter has ever built, and every one of those features has a purpose. The mahogany body with flamed maple top delivers warmth and resonance with the visual impact the finish deserves. The three-piece maple neck with Ultra Thin C profile and Ultra Access heel joint is one of the fastest and most comfortable profiles in the Schecter lineup — 19mm at the first fret, designed from the ground up for speed. The ebony fingerboard with 24 X-Jumbo frets gives you the full range of the instrument under your fingers, and the Floyd Rose 1000 Series locking tremolo with Schecter locking tuners keeps everything in tune through whatever you put it through.
The pickup system is where this guitar separates from everything else. The Seymour Duncan Full Shred SH-10 at the bridge is a high-output humbucker with double rows of Allen screw pole pieces that deliver fat, chunky tone with exceptional clarity even in drop-tuned, high-gain situations — precision at any volume. The Sustainiac driver at the neck position is the secret weapon: functioning as a standard humbucker when switched off, and transforming into an electromagnetic feedback driver when engaged. The Sustainiac works by feeding string vibration back into the strings electromagnetically, producing infinite, controllable sustain without the volume requirements of actual amp feedback. Three Sustainiac modes — Fundamental, Mix, and Harmonic — give you a range of sustain characters from pure fundamental to rich harmonic content. The intensity control dials in exactly how much the system drives the strings. It is a genuinely different dimension of playing that rewards experimentation.
