PRS SE McCarty Singlecut 594, Vintage Sunburst, Gig Bag - Used - Excellent
The McCarty 594 is the guitar PRS built to answer a specific question: what would happen if you took everything learned from decades of building world-class instruments and applied it to the specifications that defined the golden era of American electric guitar — a 24.594" scale length, low-wind vintage-voiced pickups, four-control layout, and a slightly thicker body back for added resonance and sustain? The answer turned out to be one of the most universally praised PRS models in years. The SE version makes that answer accessible, and it does so without meaningful compromise where it counts.
The mahogany body wears a flame maple veneer top and this one has a beautiful, uniform figure that reads evenly across the whole surface — exactly what you want to see on a sunburst. The 58/15 LT "S" pickups are low-wind humbuckers voiced deliberately for the warm, sweet, harmonically rich quality of the best PAF-style pickups of the late 1950s, and the four-control layout with push/pull coil splits gives you genuine humbucking weight and single-coil clarity from the same instrument. The Pattern Vintage neck is slightly thicker front to back than the Pattern Thin found on the Custom 24 — more Les Paul feel than shredder, which is entirely the point.
This one plays and feels amazing. Versatile and punchy, a rock machine that covers far more tonal ground than it gets credit for, and an absolute Les Paul killer at a fraction of the price. It punches well above its weight in every measurable way — and some unmeasurable ones too. Set up and ready to play.
Condition is Excellent. Clean throughout with nothing worth calling out. One of the nicer SE 594s we have had through the shop. Comes with the PRS gig bag.
