In 1954 Fender introduced the Stratocaster, and the world of electric guitar changed permanently. To mark seventy years of that instrument's presence in popular music — and to honor the total solar eclipses of 1954 and 2024 — Fender released 400 examples of this guitar worldwide. Four hundred. The Eclipse finish references the astronomical event directly: a deep, dark gradient that shifts under light in a way that photographs struggle to capture. It is one of the most visually distinctive Stratocasters Fender has produced in the modern era, and the appointments underneath the finish match the ambition of the concept.
The roasted flame maple neck is the first thing players notice when they pick this guitar up. Roasting removes moisture and volatiles from the wood, stabilizing it against humidity and temperature changes while producing the darker coloration, slightly more open grain structure, and immediate vintage-feeling response that a standard maple neck only approximates after years of playing. This example has gorgeous figuring in the flame — the kind of neck that earns its own conversation. The rolled fingerboard edges and sculpted heel complete a playing experience that has a very custom, premium feel from the first chord. The narrow tall frets give it a fast, modern feel under the hand — more aggressive than standard medium jumbo, rewarding fast playing and confident bending.
The hardtail bridge is a specification that divides Strat players clearly — those who want it, want it specifically. A string-through-body hardtail with block saddles maximizes sustain and transfer of string energy into the body without the mass and spring system of a tremolo competing with it. Combined with the locking Fender Deluxe tuners, this is one of the most tuning-stable Strats Fender makes. The V-Mod II pickup set covers the full range of Strat tones, and the Double Tap humbucker at the bridge adds genuine humbucking power through the push-push coil split on the tone control.
Set up by our shop with nice low action and ready to rock. Excellent condition — only minor pick scrapes on the pickguard, otherwise extremely clean. Comes with the original hardshell case and all swag.
