Esquire-Style Partscaster, Butterscotch - Used
This is a partscaster build. The body is a Squier Esquire-style in butterscotch, the pickup is most likely Squier as well, and the neck is a no-name Chinese flamed maple piece that has pretty figuring and plays comfortably. One detail worth knowing before you buy: the truss rod on this neck adjusts in the opposite direction from standard convention — counterclockwise adds relief rather than removes it. It plays okay as it sits and the neck is functional, but any tech working on it should know this upfront to avoid inadvertently over-adjusting. The brass saddles are an upgrade over stock and a nice touch on a budget build.
At 6 lbs 14 oz it is light and comfortable, and the Esquire format — single pickup, single volume, single tone — is as direct and honest a guitar as you can build. Plug it in and play.
Condition is Very Good with specific cosmetic issues worth noting clearly. There are two large chips on the back of the guitar that go down to the finish layer — visible in the photos. There is also buckle rash scuffing on the back consistent with a played instrument. Nothing structural, nothing that affects playability or electronics. Check the photos carefully. No case included.
