Dunable R2 DE – Black Satin – Bigsby – Includes Original Gig Bag – Used Very Good
Dunable Guitars launched the R2 in 2014 out of Glendale, California, and it has spent the decade since quietly becoming one of the most respected guitars in the boutique heavy music world. The concept was simple and the execution was serious: take the ergonomic logic of an offset body, load it with premium materials and hardware, and build something that could handle anything from classic rock to the most down-tuned, high-gain punishment you could throw at it. The mahogany body and neck give it a warm, thick fundamental with the kind of sustain that only comes from quality wood and careful construction. The ebony fingerboard is fast and smooth, the jumbo frets are well-dressed, and the medium C neck profile sits comfortably in the hand for players who want feel without bulk. At the heart of it are a pair of Dunable's own Cthulhu humbuckers — voiced for clarity and power, with a push-pull coil split on the tone knob that opens up the tonal range considerably when you need something cleaner or more articulate. These are not guitars that sit in the back of the collection. They get played.
This one has been fitted with a Bigsby vibrato — a modification that suits the R2's offset DNA beautifully and adds an expressive dimension that the stock stop tailpiece can't touch. The black satin finish is striking and serious-looking, and as anyone who has owned a matte or satin black instrument knows, these finishes show handling marks more readily than a gloss — that's just the nature of the material, not a reflection of how the guitar was treated. There are some minor signs of wear in the finish consistent with that, but no dings, no dents, no damage of any kind. No fret wear either. Set up through our shop and ready to rock.
