Zach Myers has been playing PRS since he was fifteen years old, and the SE signature model that bears his name reflects that depth of relationship with the brand. The brief was specific — a semi-hollow single-cut with the wide-fat neck profile he prefers, 245 "S" pickups voiced for high-end clarity and low-end power with a sweetness that survives high gain, and a chambered mahogany body with maple cap, flame maple veneer, and a single f-hole that delivers the warm, resonant internal bloom that a fully solid body cannot produce. The matching flame maple veneer headstock was a first for an SE model when this guitar launched. The result is an instrument that plays and feels considerably more expensive than it is.
The Wide Fat neck profile is the key detail for players who have not tried one — fuller front-to-back than the Pattern Thin found on most SE models, with the satin mahogany finish that feels worn-in from the first chord. The 24.594" scale sits between a Gibson and a Fender, and the 10" radius fingerboard with PRS Birds inlays is comfortable and consistent across the full range. Freshly set up by our shop and shredding. Trampas Green over the flame maple veneer is one of the better-looking finishes in the SE Zach Myers lineup — a deep, shifting green that reads differently in different light.
