Larrivee Baker-T Classic, Dark Blue, Hardshell Case - Used
Larrivee has been building guitars in North America since 1967, earning a reputation in acoustic circles that few independent builders can match. When they turned their attention to electric guitars with the Baker-T, they brought the same philosophy that built that reputation: obsessive attention to detail, premium materials throughout, and no corners cut anywhere a player would notice. The Baker-T Classic is the result — a T-style guitar built to a boutique standard at a price that makes serious players pay attention.
The body is single-piece swamp ash, traced from a 1953 Blackguard and selected for weight — this one comes in at 7 lbs 1 oz, light and resonant in a way that immediately translates to feel and tone. The neck is the Fast Neck profile, one of three options Larrivee offers on the Baker-T, and it is exactly what the name suggests: very slim, very comfortable, the kind of profile that gets out of your way immediately and lets you play. The compound radius fingerboard transitions from 9.5" at the nut to 14" at the 20th fret, which means chord work feels natural in the lower positions while single-note playing up the neck stays responsive and bend-friendly. Every spec on this guitar has a reason behind it.
The pickups are built in-house by Matthew Larrivee, wound on a 60-year-old vintage Leesona winder with vintage 43 gauge plain enamel wire and lightly potted in a paraffin and beeswax mix. The bridge pickup uses wide-diameter Alnico 5 magnets, the neck uses Alnico 6 under a genuine nickel-silver cover, and they are wired RWRP so the center switch position is hum-cancelling. The hardware throughout is polished stainless steel — a practical and aesthetic choice that will outlast anything chrome-plated — with large-diameter marine brass barrel saddles at the bridge. This is a guitar built by people who think carefully about every component, and it plays like it.
Very high quality from the first note, with low action that rewards fingertip playing and inspires confidence all the way up the neck. Condition is Very Good Plus with very little to note. Comes with the original hardshell case.
