Ibanez RX40 HSS, Deep Green, Electric Guitar - Used
The Ibanez RX40 was a short-lived entry-level model produced from 1996 to 1997, part of the affordable RX series that introduced a generation of players to the Ibanez feel — thin, fast, comfortable necks and a double-cutaway body that kept the upper frets accessible. Nothing fancy, but built for the job. The Deep Green finish was offered in 1997 only, which helps place this one in the final production year. At 6 lbs 4 oz it is a genuinely lightweight guitar that wears well on a long set.
This one has been set up by our shop and is playing well — action is dialed in and it is ready to shred. The Powersound HSS pickup configuration gives you single-coil positions one through four and a humbucker at the bridge when you need it, all through the 5-way switch. Straightforward and functional.
Condition is Good, and we are being specific: there is a large section of finish that has chipped off the lower horn — clearly visible in the photos, and the most significant cosmetic feature to know about before purchasing. Beyond that there is general play wear throughout consistent with a played and used instrument of this age. Nothing structural, nothing that affects playability or electronics. Check the photos carefully for the full picture. No case included.
