Taylor's T5 was a genuinely new idea when it arrived in 2005: a thinline hollowbody that can pass for an amplified acoustic one moment and a clean, articulate electric the next. The secret is Taylor's pickup system, which pairs a body sensor with a bridge pickup and a neck humbucker hidden under the fretboard, all routed through a five-way switch. The C2 sits in the Custom line, with a figured Hawaiian koa top over sapele back and sides, a mahogany neck, and a bound ebony fretboard. It is a remarkably versatile guitar for players who need to cover acoustic and electric ground with one instrument.
This one has been set up here in the shop and is playing great. There is some fret wear, but it does not impact playability. The finish shows some impressions and small dings from use. It is all original with no mods. It comes in a Gretsch hard case, which is not original to the guitar.
