Gretsch G2420 Streamliner Hollow Body, Chromatic II - Used
Gretsch has been synonymous with rockabilly since before rockabilly had a name. The hollow body archtop with a single cutaway, the thumbnail inlays, the Chromatic II tailpiece, the Broad'Tron pickups — these are the visual and tonal signatures of the Gretsch sound, the one that Eddie Cochran, Chet Atkins, and Brian Setzer built their reputations on. The G2420 Streamliner brings all of that into the accessible end of the Gretsch lineup without compromising the character that makes these instruments so compelling.
The fully hollow arched maple body with parallel tone bars delivers that big, resonant hollowbody voice — rich in the lows, present in the mids, with the acoustic bloom that a solid or semi-hollow body cannot replicate. The Broad'Tron BT-3S humbuckers combine Alnico 5 and Alnico 2 magnets for stronger mids, tight but full lows, and smooth clear highs that stay musical even when you dig in. The push/pull coil-split on the master volume adds single-coil tones to the full humbucking voice for additional tonal range. Set up and ready to rockabilly — this guitar does exactly what a Gretsch is supposed to do.
Condition is Very Good with minor signs of use throughout. Check the photos for specifics. No case included.
Please confirm the exact finish color before posting — the G2420 has been offered in Village Amber, Aged Brooklyn Burst, Cadillac Green, Walnut, and Fireburst among others, and the correct name improves search visibility significantly on Reverb.
