Silvertone 1478 Reissue Electric Guitar - Used
This is the modern reissue of the legendary Silvertone 1478, a guitar that originally captured the offset craze of the early 1960s. While it perfectly maintains the vintage vibe of the original "Sears Catalog" classics, this reissue features several player-centric upgrades, a stable bolt-on neck joint, and a fully adjustable Tune-O-Matic bridge paired with a genuine Bigsby vibrato tailpiece for much-improved intonation and tuning stability.
This instrument is in honest "player" condition, showing plenty of scratches and dings across the red burst finish. These cosmetic marks don't affect the performance but certainly add a bit of road-worn character to the guitar. It has been professionally set up in our shop and is ready to rock with a comfortable action and a straight neck. At 6 lbs 13 oz, it is a fantastic, lightweight option for players who want a unique look and feel without the shoulder strain.
The 1478 is equipped with two custom-voiced Silvertone single-coil pickups that are reverse-engineered to match the punchy, articulate sound of the original 1960s units. With the classic tortoise shell pickguard and block inlays, this guitar delivers a massive amount of retro style and versatile tone for everything from garage rock to surf and blues.
