G&L Tribute ASAT Classic Bluesboy, Blue, Electric Guitar - Used
Leo Fender founded G&L in 1980 with his longtime collaborator George Fullerton, and spent the last decade of his life building what many players consider his most refined work. The ASAT — G&L's take on the single-cutaway T-style guitar — was Leo's final word on the format he invented, incorporating lessons learned across forty years of guitar building. The Magnetic Field Design pickups he developed for the ASAT use individually-adjustable ceramic bar magnets in a design that delivers more output and more dynamic range than the original Telecaster pickups, while keeping all of the clarity and percussive attack that makes the platform so compelling. The Tribute Series brings that design to an Indonesian-built instrument at an accessible price, and the quality-to-dollar ratio on these guitars is difficult to argue with.
The Bluesboy configuration puts an alnico humbucker in the neck position alongside the MFD single-coil at the bridge — a combination that broadens the tonal range considerably. Clean neck humbucker warmth, classic MFD twang at the bridge, and a middle position that blends them in a way that covers real musical ground. Cool, vibey, and a total Tele killer. This one has been set up by our shop and plays great — ready to twang right off the wall.
Condition is Very Good. There is one small divot on the front upper bout — visible in the photos — along with minor signs of cosmetic use elsewhere consistent with the grade. Nothing structural, nothing that affects playability or tone. Check the photos for specifics. No case included.
