This is a fantastic and professionally upgraded Epiphone Phant-o-matic, the signature model for guitarist Frank Iero. This particular guitar has been modified for premium tone and straightforward operation, making it a formidable rock machine.
The electronics have been completely overhauled. The original pickups were swapped for a set of genuine Gibson '57 Classic humbuckers, delivering authentic, warm, and articulate PAF-style tone. The complex VariTone circuit was removed in favor of a more direct and intuitive master volume, master tone, and 3-way switch configuration, wired with high-quality CTS pots. The killer momentary kill switch remains, a fun and useful tool for creating stutter and tremolo-style effects. This guitar is in Very Good condition and is super clean, with the only notable imperfection being a small scratch on the corner of the top at the bass side lower bout. It includes a padded gig bag.
