This early-’80s Japanese-made Epiphone Casino is an exceptional example of the golden era of Matsumoku factory craftsmanship — full of vibe and vintage feel. It has been thoughtfully modded to suit more expressive tone shaping and dynamic control. A Gibson pickup has been installed in the neck position, offering a warm, open response. The original 3-way selector switch has been replaced with a blend pot, allowing smooth pickup mixing, and the bridge tone control has been disabled for a cleaner circuit.
A factory-style Bigsby vibrato system has also been installed, expanding the guitar’s expressive range and giving it that classic feel and response players love. The result is a lush, soft-feeling instrument that’s incredibly responsive and satisfying to play — the kind of guitar that feels broken-in and inspiring from the first note. The mods were completed at a reputable shop and everything functions smoothly.
Cosmetically, it shows honest signs of play throughout, including some surface scratches and a noticeable finish chip on the headstock (see photos). A true vintage player’s piece, ready for the next chapter.
