The TD-3 is Behringer's take on the Roland TB-303, the bass synthesizer that accidentally invented acid house. The original was a commercial flop when it shipped in 1981 — too fiddly, too weird, too far outside what anyone expected from a bass machine. Then Chicago producers got hold of cheap used units in the mid-80s and the rest is history. Behringer's recreation keeps the full analog signal path — matched transistors, VCO, VCF, VCA — and adds a few modern conveniences the original never had: MIDI, USB, CV/gate outs for modular integration, and a distortion circuit modeled after the Boss DS-1. The sequencer holds 250 patterns across 7 tracks. It's an honest, affordable way into that sound.
This unit is in excellent condition and fully functional across all controls and functions.
