PDP built the LX Maple series as a genuine professional option at an accessible price point — all-maple shells, lacquer finishes, and the kind of construction that gives you a real platform for serious playing and recording. Maple is the workhorse tonewood of the drum world for good reason: warm and full in the low end, clear and present in the midrange, with enough brightness to project without harshness. The LX Maple shells are built to bring out those qualities.
This five-piece in burgundy lacquer includes a 22" bass drum, 10", 12", and 14" toms, and a matching 14x5 snare — a complete, giggable configuration that covers everything from small club dates to studio work. The bearing edges are in good shape and all drums tune up well and sound great, which is the thing that actually matters. Evans clear batter heads are on the toms with plenty of life left, factory resonant heads are in place on the toms, the kick batter is a Remo Powerstroke clear in good condition, and the bass drum has a new Aquarian resonant head. The kit includes the factory double tom mount and floor tom bracket.
Cosmetically the kit presents well overall with honest signs of use consistent with regular play. The 10" and 12" toms have a fair amount of tom rash on the shell — refer to the photos for a close look. All drums show general cosmetic wear. The bass drum has one replacement hoop. The burgundy lacquer finish remains intact and the kit looks good on a stage. Please refer to the photos for a thorough look at the cosmetic condition —
