Each cymbal in the Dream Eclipse series is fired, hand-hammered, soaked in a saltwater bath, re-fired, and then finished with a Bliss-style lathe on the outer edges — a labor-intensive sequence that produces something genuinely different from the stamped and machine-lathed cymbals that dominate the market at most price points. The Eclipse crash is described by Dream as a hybrid of their unlathed Moon Ride center and their Energy cymbal outer edge — dry and articulate in the middle, with a broader, darker wash toward the rim. The result is a crash with real complexity and a wide open shoulder response that stays musical across dynamic levels.
At 19 inches and 1900 grams this is a full-bodied, substantial crash — heavier than a typical thin crash, which means it has more body, more sustain, and more projection. It will cut in louder settings without shrieking, and it has enough mass to reward a firm stroke without bottoming out. Players who want a crash that does more than just splash and decay will find a lot to work with here.
This cymbal is in excellent condition — no keyhole, no chips, no dings, no dents. A clean, ready-to-play example of a handmade cymbal that would cost significantly more bought new.
