The LP Giovanni Palladium series was designed with direct input from Giovanni Hidalgo — one of the most technically accomplished and widely recorded congueros in the world, and an LP endorser for his entire career. The Palladium line draws its aesthetic and spirit from the legendary Palladium Ballroom in New York City, the epicenter of Latin music in the mid-20th century, and builds on that heritage with some of the finest materials and hardware LP offers. The 32" staved 3-ply North American Ash shell produces a full, warm, articulate tone with strong projection and a musical character that works across Latin jazz, salsa, funk, and studio contexts. Ash is a tonewood with a slightly brighter, more open character than some tropical hardwoods, with fast attack and a clean, focused voice that cuts clearly in an ensemble setting.
The hardware spec is LP’s best: Premium Galaxy hardware with reinforced LP Heart side plates, Extended Collar Comfort Curve II rims that reduce hand stress and fatigue over long playing sessions, 3/8" diameter tuning lugs for precise and stable tuning, and LP’s patented ProCare Shell Protectors integrated into the shell. A hand-selected natural rawhide head and natural satin finish complete a drum that is built to professional standards throughout. This is the 11-3/4" conga — the standard mid-size voice of the three-drum Palladium set.
This drum has had very little use and presents extremely well. The head is in excellent shape. The shell has slight cosmetic scuffs from normal handling — nothing that affects the presentation or the playing experience. Includes the original factory booklet. A heavy duty Pearl stand on casters is available separately SKU 193139 (shown in photo series for reference) — please inquire.
