The Ibanez BTB (Boutique Bass) series was designed to offer high-end features and playability at a working musician's price point. This 2001 BTB400QM is a fantastic example of that mission, featuring a 35" extra-long scale length for increased string tension and superior articulation, especially on the lower strings. The Transparent Red finish over a Quilted Maple top gives it a premium look that stands out on any stage.
This bass is in **Very Good** condition. While it shows some honest signs of use from its 25-year life—including various dings, dents, and surface scratches—it remains a powerhouse player. There is a small "puncture wound" near the neck bolt screw heads on the back, likely from a screwdriver tip slipping during a previous adjustment (see photos for detail), but it is purely cosmetic and does not affect the structural integrity of the instrument.
The frets are in excellent shape with minimal wear. Equipped with two Dynamix humbucking pickups and an active 3-band EQ, this bass is capable of producing an impressively wide range of tonal landscapes. We have just installed two fresh 9V batteries and performed a full professional setup. It is truly ready for another 25 years of service!
