Reverend Thundergun Bass, Violin Brown - Used - Excellent
Reverend has been doing things their own way out of the Detroit area since the late 1990s, and the Thundergun is a perfect expression of that philosophy. The body shape nods unmistakably toward the Gibson Thunderbird — the raised center section, the contoured wings, the tilt-back reverse headstock — but the construction and specification depart from that reference in every meaningful way. The body is solid korina, a medium-light African tonewood closely related to mahogany, prized for its consistency, lively low end, and harmonic depth. The raised center section adds body mass for sustain while the thinner wings maintain resonance — a deliberate engineering choice that produces the combination of sustain and harmonic richness that defines the Thundergun's voice. The five-piece korina and walnut set neck is stronger and more stable than a single-piece, and the Hipshot Ultralight tuners in aircraft-grade aluminum subtract meaningful headstock mass for a balanced, comfortable instrument at 7 lbs 13 oz that wears lightly on a long gig.
The pickup configuration is where the real story lives. The Reverend Split Brick in the neck position delivers strong lows and warm highs with a vintage P-Bass character the korina body naturally enhances. The Thick Brick bridge humbucker brings cutting mids and modern punch. The pickup pan knob blends between them continuously and intuitively — roll toward the neck for deep thump, toward the bridge for grinding midrange attack, or find the blend that sits perfectly in your mix. Light and punchy in exactly the way a great bass should be. Ready to thump right off the wall.
Condition is Excellent. Super clean, no significant wear to report. Check the photos. No case included.
