Peavey 1992 Foundation Bass, Black, Maple Neck, Hardshell Case - Used
Peavey built the Foundation in Meridian, Mississippi and it earned its reputation the honest way — players bought them, gigged them hard, and came back years later saying they were still among the best-feeling necks they had ever played. The Foundation has a devoted following in the bass community for exactly that reason, and finding a clean example has become increasingly difficult as time passes. This 1992 example is significant for a specific reason: 1992 was the year Peavey switched from poplar to alder for the Foundation body, giving this bass a tonal character that the earlier poplar examples do not quite match — warmer, more resonant, and with a low end that carries better in a live mix.
The two Super Ferrite single-coil pickups are the defining voice of the Foundation — a high-output design that is punchy, growly, and articulate without losing low-end authority, wired through individual volume controls and a master tone. Strung with flatwounds, which only deepen the warmth and sustain and give the whole bass a focused, old-school authority that sits beautifully in any context. A working player's bass that does everything right.
Set up by our shop and ready to rock. Condition is Very Good with plenty of signs of play wear consistent with a bass of this age that has been played and used — honest wear on a working instrument. Nothing structural, nothing that affects playability or tone. Check the photos for the full picture. Comes with a hardshell case.
