BTB stands for Boutique Bass, and that's exactly what Ibanez set out to build when they launched the series in 1999 — a professional-grade instrument with premium construction and components at a price that working players could actually reach. The BTB1000 was the flagship of the lineup, built in Japan by FujiGen as part of the Prestige line, and it shows in every detail. The construction is neck-through with a 5-piece maple and bubinga neck — a combination that delivers exceptional sustain, stability, and a fast, comfortable feel through the full 24-fret range. The mahogany body wings with flamed maple top give it a rich, warm fundamental with just enough bite on top, and that gorgeous rosewood fingerboard is smooth and beautifully figured. The 35" scale length keeps the low end tight and defined — a real asset for players who spend time in lower registers or need that extra clarity in a full-band mix. Dual Bartolini pickups paired with an active 3-band EQ give it a tonal range that covers a lot of ground — warm and full in the neck position, punchy and articulate at the bridge, with a Vari-Mid circuit that lets you really dial in your sound. These are serious basses that have aged well and continue to command respect from players who know what they're looking at.
This one is in very good condition and shows the kind of honest wear you'd expect from an instrument of its age — some buckle rash and minor scratches, nothing dramatic. The neck is smooth and straight, that rosewood board is beautiful, everything functions perfectly. Set up through our shop and ready to go.
