Ibanez ATK300 Electric Bass – Made in Korea – Gig Bag – Used Very Good
The ATK series occupies a unique and well-deserved place in the bass world. When Ibanez introduced it in 1994 they were chasing something specific — the aggressive, punchy, authoritative voice of the Music Man StingRay, built to their own spec and priced within reach of working players. What they delivered became something of a legend among players who found it, earning the ATK a devoted following and a reputation as one of the great underrated production basses of the 1990s. The Korean-made ATK300 is the heart of that story. The light ash body is substantial and resonant, giving the instrument a natural acoustic presence that translates into a full, complex amplified tone. The three-piece maple neck with maple fingerboard is fast, stable, and comfortable — bolt-on with a five-bolt attachment that maximizes contact between neck and body for improved sustain and energy transfer. At the center of it all is the ATK triple-coil pickup — a proprietary design that sits in the bridge position and can be switched between three distinct tonal characters via the Tone Character Switch. Parallel mode gives you a full, warm humbucker voice. Series mode delivers a thicker, more powerful tone with enhanced low end. Single-coil mode opens up the sound for a more focused, articulate character with added brightness. Layer the active 3-band EQ on top of that and the tonal range this bass covers is genuinely impressive — warm and round for jazz and blues, punchy and aggressive for rock and funk, tight and defined for anything that needs to cut through a dense mix. Schaller-licensed open-gear tuners and chrome ATK4 bridge round out a bass that is built to last and built to perform.
This one is a really fun player that can fit in on any gig — rock solid, set up great, and ready to rock. No fret wear, nut in good shape, all hardware functioning perfectly. Minor wear consistent with normal play and nothing else. A superb bass at a real-world price.
