Fender Custom Shop Jaco Pastorius Tribute Jazz Bass Relic - 3-Color Sunburst - Used Mint
The Fender Custom Shop Jaco Pastorius Tribute Jazz Bass is a meticulous, faithful recreation of the Bass of Doom—the famously distressed 1962 Jazz Bass that defined the voice of modern fretless playing. This instrument is the result of years of research and collaboration between Fender's master builders and Jaco's technician. It features a select Alder body with a heavy Relic lacquer finish that perfectly replicates every wear pattern, nick, and scratch of the original.
The neck is a specially shaped C-profile Maple neck with a slab Rosewood fingerboard. Following Jaco’s own modification, the fingerboard is fretless and coated in a hard epoxy, providing that legendary mwah sustain and protecting the wood from the bite of roundwound strings. Powered by a pair of Custom Shop '60s Single-Coil Jazz Bass pickups, this bass delivers the punchy, midrange-forward growl that helped Jaco cut through any mix.
This 2024 model is in mint condition, showing virtually no signs of additional use beyond the factory Relic treatment. It has been professionally inspected to ensure the epoxy board is smooth and the electronics are flawless. Included with the bass is the original deluxe black hardshell case and the complete set of Custom Shop case candy, including the Certificate of Authenticity.
