Ernie Ball Music Man Sting Ray 4 String Bass Blueburst (1991)
This 1991 Ernie Ball Music Man Sting Ray is a well-maintained example of an industry-standard powerhouse. It features a translucent blueburst finish over an ash body, offering a classic look with plenty of ebling provided by the highly figured flame maple neck. Despite being over thirty years old, the gloss finish has held up beautifully. While there is some honest finish wear from use, the bass presents very well and remains in great structural shape.
The neck is a standout feature, sporting a velvet-style catalyzed lacquer finish that feels smooth in the hand with no dings or tactile imperfections. The frets show some wear, but they do not impact playability or intonation. Weighing in at 9.8 lbs, it has the characteristic heft and sustain these basses are known for. It has been professionally set up in our shop and is ready for the stage or studio. This listing includes the original hard case.
