The PM7X is Yamaha's third-generation Silent Brass pickup mute for trumpet and cornet — smaller and lighter than previous versions, with a redesigned internal microphone optimized for the full dynamic and overtone range of brass instruments. It fits entirely inside the bell rather than protruding from the end, which improves instrument balance and allows the instrument to be stored in its case with the mute in place. The mute reduces volume dramatically while preserving natural resistance and playability — useful on its own as a quiet practice mute, or paired with Yamaha's Personal Studio body pack for full Brass Resonance Modeling through headphones. Compatible with current and previous model Personal Studio units.
