The Vox AC15 has been a working guitarist's reference point since 1958 — the amp that defined British chime, midrange complexity, and touch-sensitive clean-to-crunch response before those were even categories people talked about. The AC15C1 is the modern production version of that lineage: all-tube, 15 watts, two channels, spring reverb, and tremolo in a compact 1x12 combo that covers an enormous amount of ground from bedroom to small stage. The Normal channel delivers the classic Vox clean — glassy, present, and articulate — and the Top Boost channel adds treble and bass shaping that pushes the amp into the chimey, slightly compressed overdrive the platform is known for. The Master Volume and Tone Cut controls let you dial in the right amount of gain staging for the room without losing the character of the amp. Three 12AX7 preamp tubes and a pair of EL84s in the power section — all original stock — push the Celestion G12M Greenback, which is exactly the right speaker for this amp: warm in the mids, present in the highs, with just enough compression at the edge of breakup to feel musical rather than harsh.
This 2010 example is in very good condition. The tolex and grille cloth are in good shape with very slight cosmetic scratches and dings from normal use — nothing dramatic. The output jacks have recently been replaced, which is a known maintenance item on this generation of AC15C1 and a meaningful improvement to the reliability of the amp going forward. All tubes are original. The amp works perfectly across both channels, spring reverb, and tremolo. Please refer to the photos for a close look at cosmetic condition.
