Fender 1975 Vibro Champ Silverpanel, Modified - Used
The silverpanel Vibro Champ is one of the most enduring small tube amps in Fender's catalog — a single-ended 6-watt Class A circuit running a 12AX7 preamp tube, a single 6V6GT power tube, and a 5Y3GT rectifier, with a pre-amp tube bias-shifting tremolo circuit that sets it apart from the standard Champ. Unlike many silverpanel Fender amps of the era, the Vibro Champ's circuit remained largely unchanged from the blackface period, which is a big part of why these amps have held their reputation. Controls are simple: Volume, Speed, and Intensity. Two 1/4" inputs — high and low sensitivity. This one has been modified with an Eminence 820H speaker in place of the stock 8" driver, a well-regarded upgrade that extends the low end response and opens up the headroom considerably, taking what is typically a bedroom and studio amp into genuine small-gig territory.
This one is in Very Good condition. The silver control panel shows some scratching around the input jacks and the grille is beginning to poke out from underneath from paneling (see photos for reference), but its very mild and does not affect play, sound or structure — otherwise any other visible wear throughout is be typical for a well-used 70s amp (mild scuffing etc). All functions working normally including tremolo.
