The 8x10 bass cabinet is the most uncompromising statement a bassist can make on a stage, and Mesa Boogie's Traditional PowerHouse is the most uncompromising version of that statement available from any production manufacturer. Hand-built in Petaluma, California from void-free AA marine-grade Baltic birch with aviation-style dado-joined and sculpted bracing, this is a cabinet engineered with a seriousness of purpose that its competitors rarely match. The sealed chambered construction divides the cabinet into four independent 2x10 compartments, each treated with acoustic batting — a design that provides focused low-mid punch and exceptional definition while maintaining balance and clarity across the full frequency range. Eight custom Eminence 10-inch speakers tuned specifically for this application handle 1,200 watts RMS, delivering headroom and output that can fill any stage without straining. The combination Speakon and quarter-inch connectors on both input and parallel output give you maximum flexibility in system integration, and the tilt-and-roll transport system with rollerblade-style wheels, rear glide rail protection, and heavy-duty metal kickplate makes what is a very large cabinet considerably more manageable on a load-in. Rugged black Bronco vinyl covering, Lexan corner protectors, black Twisted Jute grille with silver piping, and recessed metal handles complete an enclosure that looks as serious as it performs. This is a tweeter-less design — full, warm, and powerful without the harshness that a high-frequency driver can introduce in a high-volume setting. It fills a big stage evenly and authoritatively in a way that very few bass cabinets can match.
