The Traditional PowerHouse 4x10 is one of the most respected bass cabinets in production, and it earns that reputation through genuinely thoughtful engineering rather than marketing. Mesa's aviation-style bracing — borrowed directly from aircraft construction principles — forms a dado-joined, sculpted skeleton that is exceptionally strong while keeping overall weight surprisingly manageable for a cabinet of this output capability. The Tri-Port design is the real innovation here: rather than relying on a single large port hole or shelf-style venting that lets tone simply blow out unfocused, Mesa uses individually tuned triangular ports that are structurally integrated into the cabinet and baffle, each one optimized for a specific part of the bass frequency spectrum. The result, by every account from players who have spent real time with this cabinet, is a tone that is smoother, warmer, and more relaxed than Mesa's other bass cabinet offerings — bigger sounding than its physical size would suggest, with a forgiving, musical character that works well across a wide range of playing styles. Four custom Mesa PowerHouse 10-inch speakers handle 600 watts RMS at 8 ohms, with a high-frequency horn and adjustable L-Pad attenuator giving you full control over top-end presence, from completely bypassed to fully engaged. Construction is genuine AA marine-grade Baltic birch, void-free and built to last. Rugged black Bronco vinyl covering, Lexan corner protectors, a black twisted jute grille that filters top end for a sweeter overall response, Trak-Loc removable casters, and recessed metal handles round out a cabinet that is as practical on the road as it is impressive on stage.
