Baldwin Super Sound Amplifier – Used
The Baldwin Super Sound is a rare and unusual solid-state amplifier from the 1960s/1970s era, reflecting Baldwin’s brief foray into the guitar amp market. Built with striking design and bold aesthetics, the Super Sound stands out both visually and sonically. It delivers clean tones with plenty of headroom and a distinct vintage character, making it a fascinating alternative to more common Fender, Vox, or Gibson amps of the time.
Equipped with multiple inputs, onboard reverb and tremolo, and a powerful output section, this amp was aimed at both stage players and experimental guitarists. Its tone is clean, punchy, and slightly raw—perfect for surf, garage rock, and psychedelic-inspired sounds.
This used example shows cosmetic wear consistent with age, including tolex scuffs, hardware patina, and surface marks. It remains in good working condition and has been inspected by our technician.
