Bowerman Oregon Trail Parlor Acoustic Guitar - Walnut/Adirondack - Used
This is an exceptional example of lutherie from Jayson Bowerman, a master builder who spent 15 years as a lead luthier at Breedlove before launching his own boutique workshop in Bend, Oregon. This "Oregon Trail" model is a meticulously hand-built parlor guitar that punches far above its weight class, offering the tonal complexity of a much larger instrument with the intimate playability only a boutique parlor can provide.
The guitar is constructed with a premium Adirondack Spruce top—known for its high ceiling for volume and incredible dynamic range—paired with stunning flamed Oregon Walnut back and sides. This tonewood combination delivers a "woody," earthy character with a crisp top end and a tight, punchy bass. The body is finished in a gorgeous, deep sunburst that perfectly highlights the grain of the tonewoods.
Set up to Martin factory specifications and currently strung with a fresh set of Martin Retro Monel 12s, the playability is effortless. The neck features an ebony fingerboard with a 1.756" nut width and a 25.3" scale length, providing a familiar yet slightly roomier feel that is perfect for fingerstyle or articulate flatpicking. Structurally, the guitar is in excellent condition with a straight neck and plenty of saddle height for future adjustments.
This instrument is in fantastic cosmetic shape, showing only minor signs of play such as light finish swirling. There is one small set of nicks on the treble side next to the heel, but the guitar is otherwise remarkably clean. It comes protected in a premium Hoffee Carbon Fiber case, widely considered the ultimate in lightweight, bulletproof protection.
