If you've heard of Martin's Shenandoah guitars, get ready for a treat! This 1987 HD-2832 is one of these incredible instruments. They were made in Japan and sent to the Martin factory in Nazareth, PA "in the white," where they received final assembly, finishing, and setup right here in the US. This unique process means you get that world-famous Martin sound and playability for quite a bit less money.
This particular guitar is in Very Good condition, with a couple of dings and dimples commensurate with its age. It has just had a professional setup to meet Martin's factory specs, and it plays wonderfully. As a result of this setup, the saddle is rather low in the slot, but the action is comfortable and correct (please see pics for reference). Thankfully, this model was made after Martin implemented adjustable truss rods, so the neck relief can be easily adjusted.
A previous undersaddle pickup element has been removed, so the bone saddle now makes full contact with the bridge slot, improving acoustic tone and resonance. The original endpin jack remains, should you wish to install a new pickup system. This is a solid player's Martin, ready to gig. It comes with a hard shell case.
