Eastman E10OOSS/V, Antique Classic, Hardshell Case - Used
Eastman has been building instruments in Beijing since the mid-1990s, and the quality-to-dollar ratio on their acoustic guitars has become one of the best-kept secrets in the market — a reputation built quietly through word of mouth among players who found one and could not put it down. The E10OOSS/V is a 00-size concert guitar built entirely from solid tonewoods, with a solid Adirondack spruce top over solid mahogany back and sides, hand-carved scalloped X bracing, ebony fingerboard and bridge pins, and bone nut and saddle throughout. The Adirondack spruce is the detail that earns the most conversation — stiffer and more responsive than Sitka, with a faster attack, more pronounced overtones, and a dynamic range that rewards both a light touch and an assertive one. The mahogany provides warmth and midrange focus that balances the Adirondack clarity beautifully. The result is full-sounding and immediate — excellent feeling under the hands, with a voice that opens up further as the guitar continues to be played.
A word on the finish, because it matters for buyers who do not know this instrument. The /V in the model name denotes Eastman's Antique Classic varnish — a thin, hand-rubbed treatment that mimics the look of a well-aged vintage instrument. The amber color, the light checking pattern, the aged appearance — all of this is intentional and factory-applied. This is not a relic job, not actual wear, and not something that happened to the guitar over time. It is how Eastman finishes this model, and it serves a tonal purpose: a thinner varnish allows the top to vibrate more freely than a thicker lacquer, contributing directly to the responsiveness and openness of the sound.
Recently set up and restrung in our shop with Martin MA540 Phosphor Bronze 12-53s and playing great. Condition is Very Good with almost no signs of actual play wear. The aged appearance is the factory finish, not the guitar's history. Check the photos. Comes with the hardshell case.
